Lou Lou & Oscar

Lou Lou & Oscar is the working name of Lisa Aaron, a self-taught designer and maker of things. Lisa lives and works in the U.K. and has exhibited her work internationally. After completing her studies in English literature & modern continental philosophy, Lisa worked as a Librarian in London. Since 2009 she has focused on designing & making creatures & contemporary wall hangings. Lisa's work is often inspired by the written word, by fragments of text & half-remembered lines of poetry. An interest in cryptozoology, hybrid identity & natural history feeds into many of the creatures and embroideries Lisa creates, she is frequently observed staring out to sea hoping to catch a glimpse of the giant squid.

Ok, so that was a little formal right, here I am in the first person.

I adore Scandinavian design and all things Zakka. Beautiful fabric is my passion. My creatures and embroideries are made using material from Linum & Himla of Sweden, Green Gate of Denmark and the UK's own Cabbages & Roses. I am lucky enough to be able to source most of my fabric locally.
